by Elizaveta Kozlova

I am a NYC-based art and portrait photographer. I haven’t been able to travel much during this year due to COVID restrictions and to being in the middle of a change in immigration status. These circumstances gave me the opportunity to explore different cities in New York state. “Ante Perpetuum” (“Before Forever”) is a series of images I created in July 2022 while hiking along the Hudson River. The dry wood that got washed out on the bank inspired me to capture the striking expressivity of shape and texture that will soon be destroyed by time, wind and water.
