Daniel Montersi is a school counselor, coach, photographer and writer, who finds great wisdom from the natural spaces and places he visits.

When COVID 19 shut down Miami, there was always Big Cypress National Park. Even though Miami was frozen still, nature kept going. A retreat to the silence and healing calm of the park, enabled perspective. Tall trees exhibit strength, resilience and longevity. Bromiliads and orchids exhibit a natural collaboration that mirrored society’s need to work together to get through the pandemic, and polinating butterflies and irridescent green bees offer a hope for the next generation. Frequent escapes to nature enabled me to recenter at a time when people relied heavily on me for emotional support.
