Rambler by Gerard Sarnat

Leaving the place I was born three score and more behind in Cincinnati
after perhaps visiting Dad for the last time live and kicking,
the sole reason I ended my 410-mile motorcycle ride
today in nearby Paducah KY (best name ever) was
soas I could send this poem to a good friend
Doug some of you may remember
from hosted my bachelor party
for me and Roxanne in SF.
Doug, I have a new bike
that was 7 weeks old yesterday
— it has 9,100 miles plus counting.
I’m in Paducah via Cincinnati via upper
Michigan, my second 2-week trip on this bike.
