Postcards: Ennui, French Alps

Jet-lagged at a gala in the French Alps, a PR person sells me on New York: “Sure, I’m in
my late thirties with a kitchen the size of my thumbnail, but I can get a coffee and a bagel
anytime I want.”
I suck my thumb and pray for rain.
Kate Ryan:  I’m a freelance writer currently living in Los Angeles.
