Postcards: France 1989

postcards, travels

Dear Mom,

I’m in Paris for my 31st birthday! It’s all about history and art here, and jazz hot out on the street. The French think Americans are terribly rude. Café au lait and nouvelle cuisine on the Champs-Elysees, a French haircut, le Tour Eiffel – trip of a lifetime!

Margie B Klein: In 1989, I was lucky to travel to Europe for a natural resources seminar, comparing eastern and western block countries. It was a truly historic experience, occurring only months before the communist block fell.
